Sondos Belhassen
Sondos Belhassen is a Tunisian actress, dancer, and choreographer. She has taught at El Teatro, the National Circus School, and the National Theater School of Tunisia. With Malek Sebaï and Patricia Triki, she created the shows Manel wu Sawssen (2007) and La prison des délits de cœur (2010) for the Dream City festival in Tunis.
Sondos Belhassen holds a state diploma in dance teaching and a postgraduate degree in cultural policy and cultural administration management, both obtained in Paris. A dancer and performer, she devotes herself to teaching dance at Téatro and Enact. She works in event planning, where she choreographed the opening ceremony of the African Cup of Nations in 2004.
Her acting career began in 1989 with Nouri Bouzid’s film Les Sabots en or. She also appeared in the films Bezness (1992) by the same director, Fifty fifty, mon amour (1992) by Nadia El Fani, and Tam Tam district by Mohamed Dammak. Since 2006, she has returned to cinema, starring in Tunisian productions, mainly short films, including Malik Amara’s “Le poisson noyé” in 2006.
Les Secrets (2009) marked her first collaboration with director Raja Amari. At the same time, she presented works of visual art in two solo exhibitions: Détournements and Made in A.
