Larrio Ekson
Larrio Ekson is a principal dancer, actor, teacher, and choreographer.
He made his mark on the history of contemporary dance as Carolyn Carlson’s legendary partner from the 1970s, both at the Paris Opera and La Fenice in Venice, where he was named principal dancer. He has also performed for some of the greatest choreographers, including Maurice Béjart, Carolyn Carlson, Robert Cohen, Luis Falco, Paul Taylor, Frederik Ashton, May O’Donnell, James Warring, and Jiří Kylián.
As a teacher, he has taught at the Paris Opera and the École de Danse, as well as at Bartabas’ Académie du Spectacle Équestre at the Palace of Versailles and in major national and international workshops.
Larrio Ekson has been a Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters in France since 2012 and an Honorary Citizen of Venice.
