Une danse blanche avec Eliane
This short dance takes the form of a game led by a young man in a dreamlike nighttime square. The movements are as gentle as simple words whispered in the ear.
Solo created on January 4, 1980, for the preview gala of the Maison de la Danse in Lyon, inspired by Suite pour violes Sous la blafarde and Danses blanches.
Recreated by Sylvie Giron on June 13, 2000, for the 20th anniversary celebrations at the Maison de la Danse in Lyon.

About Une Danse Blanche avec Eliane / Transmission winter 2000
In 1980, Dominique Bagouet created Une danse blanche avec Eliane for the preview evening of the Maison de la Danse in Lyon.
This piece consisted of three excerpts from older choreographies, reworked for the occasion in a different relationship to space, music, and inevitably, interpretation.
In 2000, for the Maison de la Danse’s 20th anniversary gala, I was asked to reprise this dance with Eliane Lencot, musician and original partner in the piece.
It was an opportunity to take stock of a world that was dear to me and in which I had been immersed for a long time.
We also toured this solo/duet in Matière première in 2002.
Quite naturally, I thought it was time to pass this piece on to today’s dancers, for its fundamentally human, rigorous, and playful qualities – rigorous in its writing, with dance asserting itself as a language in its own right, and playful in the space it gives to the performer.
